Robert Mandry developed and manufactured the RTV from 1983 to 1987. Only making about 20 of them, including prototypes. These were 100% Mini 1000 automatic based. Then in 1987 Lawrence Hawgood took over and spent a fortune redeveloping them on Ford Escort, Sierra, Granada Scorpio and ultimately Lada Niva running gear with Peugeot 1.9 Turbo Diesel and GM 3 speed auto. Despite the huge funds thrown at it Lawrence only produced a mere handful of about 10 prototypes including 2 unique Mini based ones, based on the wider Ford chassis frame. One of these is on the Isle of Man. |
